Why "In the Meantime"??

You've probably all seen (or read) the book In the Meantime by Iyanla Vanzant, and although I haven't read it I have a pretty good idea of what it's about. And certainly based on the summary I pulled from Yahoo (below)...I was right.

"...Your mother, bless her heart, and your father, with all of his good intentions, did not prepare you for the meantime. They did not because they could not. No one can prepare you or help you find what you are looking for. What you need is love, not romance. Love, not more money. Love, not a new car. Love is the only thing that can make the meantime worthwhile. Once you find love, true selflove, and unconditional love for everyone all the time, things will look, feel, and be a lot better. The question is: What do you do in the meantime? "

So, in my search for "Self Love" I find myself stuck "In the meantime"...and while that's not a horrible place to be...it is what it is. So for me, this blog title "In the meantime" represents what I'm doing/feeling now while passing through my 48 years of being in the meantime.

Someday I'm hoping I'll be on the other side...but for now, it appears my whole life is "In the Meantime"!!!

So that explains the blog title. The rest of this blog will more about day to day findings, adventures and dreams.

And to start with an adventure, Erica and I will embarking on a cross country road trip staring on August 7 in an attempt to bring her (and her car) back to Connecticut. We will both post daily blogs and hopefully we won't kill each other anywhere along the trip! Don't remember Bob Hope doing a mother/daughter On the Road movie!!!

An over of our trip will be:

Day 1: Sacramento, CA - Salt Lake City, Utah

Day 2: Salt lake City to Casper, Wyoming

Day 3: Casper, Wy to Mitchell, South Dakota (Mt Rushmore stop during this day)

Day 4: Mitchell, SD to Chicago, IL (2 days here....visiting with Loren)

Day 6: Chicago - Cleveland, OH (Visiting Nancy's parents in Aurora, OH)

Day 7: Cleveland, OH - Hamden, CT

Should be a fun adventure/nightmare....So far our motivation for the trip is high. Will keep you all posted.
